Metal surface treatment is a process to form a surface layer on the surface of the substrate that is different from the substrate's mechanical, physical and chemical properties. The purpose of metal surface treatment is to meet the product's corrosion resistance, wear resistance, decoration or other special functional requirements. Common metal surface treatment methods are:
1. Polishing
Polishing refers to the use of mechanical, chemical or electrochemical effects to reduce the surface roughness of metals to obtain a bright, smooth surface. Use polishing tools and abrasive particles or other polishing media to modify the surface of the processed metal. Polishing cannot improve the dimensional accuracy or geometric accuracy of the workpiece, but aims to obtain a smooth surface or mirror gloss. Sometimes it is also used to eliminate gloss.
2. Sandblasting
The process of cleaning and roughening the surface of the substrate under the impact of high-speed sand flow. Compressed air is used as power to form a high-speed jet stream, spraying the spraying material on the surface of the workpiece to be processed at a high speed, so that the appearance or shape of the metal surface after treatment changes, due to the impact and cutting action of the abrasive on the surface of the workpiece, the surface of the workpiece A certain degree of cleanliness and different roughness can be obtained, and the mechanical properties of the surface of the workpiece are improved. Therefore, the fatigue resistance of the workpiece is improved, and the adhesion between the workpiece and the coating is increased, the durability of the coating film is prolonged, and it is also conducive to the leveling and decoration of the coating.
3. Drawing treatment
This is a metal surface treatment method that forms lines on the surface of the workpiece by grinding the product to achieve a decorative effect. According to the different lines after drawing, they can be divided into: straight line drawing, chaotic line drawing, corrugated surface, and swirling surface. Because the surface drawing process can reflect the texture of metal materials, it is more and more favored by users and is used more and more widely.
